DepEd to Prioritize Promotion of School Principals Under New Career System

The Department of Education (DepEd) has assured that current Head Teachers, Assistant School Principals, Special School Principals, and Assistant Special School Principals will be included in the coverage of the new Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System.

According to DepEd, the ECP is designed to open more opportunities for teachers to advance in their careers without having to wait for plantilla vacancies, all while maintaining a merit-based promotion process.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized that the ECP is not an added burden but rather an opportunity for growth.

The agency encouraged teachers to support the reform, saying it was created to recognize competence, reward performance, and foster continuous improvement.
