The Department of Health (DOH) reported a significant decline in dengue cases nationwide last month.
According to the DOH, only 7,471 dengue cases were recorded from January 4 to January 24, 2026.
This is much lower compared to the 25,652 dengue cases logged during the same period last year—representing a 71% decrease.
Despite the drop, the agency stressed that the public should remain cautious against dengue.
The DOH advised the public to take advantage of dry weather to clean their surroundings and remove possible breeding sites of stagnant water.
It also urged people to seek immediate medical consultation if they experience symptoms such as fever, rashes, body aches, and dizziness.
