Itinalaga ng University of the Philippines (UP) Board of Regents bilang bagong UP President si former faculty regent Angelo Jimenez.
Ayon sa official publication ng UP College of Mass Communication, simula 2023, ang former Duterte-appointed UP regent ay magsisilbi ng anim na taon bilang chief officer ng pamantasan.
Papalitan ni Jimenez ang outgoing UP President na si Danilo Concepcion na baba sa kanyang posisyon sa darating na Pebrero.
Ilan pa sa mga naging nominado sa posisyon ay sina UP Diliman chancellor Fidel Nemenzo, former UP Los Baños chancellor Fernando Sanchez Jr., Catanduanes State University president Patrick Alain Azanza, former 1-Edukasyon representative Salvador Belaro Jr., at former UP Diliman vice chancellor for research and development Benito Pacheco. // SMM
