DA urges public to help monitor farm-to-market road projects

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has called on farmers, local government units, and the public to help monitor the construction of farm-to-market roads (FMRs).

According to DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., they will introduce measures that will allow ordinary citizens to take part in monitoring these projects.

In line with this, the DA is set to launch the “FMR Watch” platform, where users can upload photos, report project progress, and flag issues directly from construction sites.

The department will also establish portals that show the exact locations of FMR projects to make them easier to check and monitor.

Laurel emphasized that they need everyone’s cooperation to oversee the FMR projects and ensure their timely and proper implementation.

He added that this initiative will help promote transparency and ensure that public funds are not diverted into the pockets of a few.
