The Department of Agriculture (DA) has discovered alleged “ghost” farm-to-market road (FMR) projects worth ₱75 million in Mindanao.
In an interview, Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. said the findings are still based on initial reports, and the number of questionable projects is not yet considered widespread among FMR initiatives.
He clarified that the case appears to be isolated.
According to Laurel, the projects in question date back to 2021 to 2022.
They also identified that small contractors were involved — none of whom were among the 15 major contractors earlier exposed by President Bongbong Marcos as having multiple flood control projects nationwide.
For now, the DA is conducting a deeper investigation into the issue.
