A 21-year-old construction worker was shot dead by an unidentified gunman outside his home in Barangay Bubog, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday night, Sept. 24.
Police identified the victim by the alias “Marko.”
According to police, Marko went outside his home at about 11 p.m. after hearing dogs barking.
His younger brother reportedly saw a man wearing an orange shirt hiding near a tree before a series of gunshots rang out.
The victim’s family then found Marko lying outside the house with multiple gunshot wounds.
In an interview with Brigada News FM Bacolod, Police Lt. John Patrick Linda, deputy chief of police for administration of the Talisay Component City Police Station, said the victim had reportedly been involved in an argument earlier that day.
Linda also said Marko had allegedly received a threat that he would be killed.
The police official did not identify the person behind the alleged threat.
The identity of the gunman remains unknown.
Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting, including the circumstances surrounding the reported confrontation and death threat received by the victim.
No other details about the identity of the suspect or the motive for the shooting were provided in the report.
The shooting happened outside the victim’s home in Barangay Bubog, where his family found him after hearing the gunfire.
