Three students were injured Tuesday afternoon after being hit by falling concrete debris outside a condominium along Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City.
The incident occurred around noon on August 13 as the students were on their way home from school. According to initial reports, chunks of concrete suddenly fell from the building, striking the victims.
Two of the students are in critical condition after sustaining head injuries from the impact. The third student suffered less severe injuries and was reported to be in stable condition.
The Quezon City local government issued a statement expressing concern over the incident and confirmed that an investigation will be conducted to determine responsibility. Officials said they will identify the parties accountable for the falling debris and ensure that appropriate legal actions are taken.
The LGU also announced that it is coordinating with the victims’ families to provide immediate assistance, including medical support and other necessary aid.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the injured students pending notification of their families. Details about the condominium and whether it had prior safety violations have not been disclosed as of press time.
