Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairperson George Garcia emphasized that the poll body will support any initiative aimed at ending political dynasties, particularly the proposed Anti-Political Dynasty Bill.
This comes after President Bongbong Marcos ordered several measures to be prioritized, including the said proposal.
According to Garcia, equal opportunity must be guaranteed for all, adding that everyone should be given a fair chance to serve the country.
He also stressed that the Constitution should always prevail and remain supreme.
Aside from the anti-political dynasty bill, the president is also prioritizing the Independent People’s Commission bill, a measure to strengthen accountability in public finance, and proposed amendments to the party-list system.
