Comelec assures transparency in Antipolo 2nd District special elections

The campaign period for the special elections in Antipolo City’s 2nd District is set to begin.

It will run from February 12 to March 12, or two days before the scheduled election on March 14.

Alongside this, Comelec Chairman George Garcia assured the public that ballot printing is already prepared and will be completed soon.

He said the process is expected to be finished within five days.

Garcia also guaranteed transparency in the voting process, including the posting of candidates’ certificates of candidacy on the Comelec website—a practice the agency has done before to allow the public to better know those running for office.

Because of this, Garcia reminded all candidates to strictly follow election guidelines and avoid premature campaigning.

He added that Comelec is closely monitoring such violations and will not hesitate to disqualify candidates who fail to comply.
