DSWD Sec. Gatchalian checks situation of residents affected by Typhoon Basyang

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian visited Iligan City to personally assess and speak with residents severely affected by Typhoon Basyang.

Gatchalian met with Iligan City Mayor Fredrick Siao to determine the needs of residents, including those staying in evacuation centers.

According to the agency, the meeting was also attended by Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe, Field Office Northern Mindanao Regional Director Glofelia Uayan, and representatives from the Iligan City LGU, Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Department of Health (DOH), and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

The DSWD said it aims to assure residents that they have government support during difficult times.
