A 41-year-old woman was arrested early Friday during a drug buy-bust operation in Sitio Aroma, Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, Cebu resulting in the seizure of over ₱13 million worth of illegal drugs.
The suspect, identified only by her alias “Bebe,” is a resident of Barangay Tejero, Cebu City. Authorities consider her a high-value target in the illegal drug trade.
Operatives from Mandaue City Police Station 2, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 7 (PDEA-7), led the operation that yielded approximately two kilograms of suspected shabu. The illegal substance has an estimated street value of ₱13.6 million.
The buy-bust took place during the early hours of April 11, as law enforcement personnel acted on intelligence reports that led them to the suspect’s activity in the area.
Charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspect, who is currently in police custody.
Authorities said the successful operation is part of their continued efforts to curb drug distribution networks across Cebu.
