Authorities in Cebu are investigating two separate but possibly connected incidents after bodies were discovered in different locations on Sunday and Monday.
On September 14, hikers in Sitio Antuanga, Barangay Quiot, Cebu City, found the body of an unidentified man. The victim was lying face down with gunshot wounds and bruises across his body. Police said the man has not yet been identified as of this report.
Less than 24 hours later, another body was found in Talisay City. On Monday morning, residents discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds and his hands bound in Barangay Manipis.
The Talisay victim was identified as a 31-year-old resident of Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City. Authorities said the manner of killing suggests foul play, and investigators are now working to determine if the two cases are related.
Police have not released further details on suspects or motives. Both crime scenes were processed, and evidence is being examined to trace possible leads.
The discovery of two bodies in quick succession has raised public concern in the area, with residents calling for answers. Investigators have yet to establish whether the two killings share a common link, but they confirmed that all angles are being considered.
As of Monday, the unidentified victim in Barangay Quiot remained under examination, while the body found in Talisay was turned over to the family. Authorities assured the public that updates will be released once more information becomes available.
Police appealed to residents who may have seen suspicious activity in the areas to come forward and help with the ongoing investigation.
