Cebu City Hall employee shot dead; love triangle eyed

A Cebu City Hall job order employee was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Barangay Suba, Cebu City, on Monday night, August 4.

The victim, known only by the alias Dan, 46, was a resident of the barangay. Police said the shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m.

Initial investigation showed Dan had just arrived home when a tall, thin man followed him and fired several shots. The attack was witnessed by Dan’s child, authorities confirmed.

Investigators said the incident may be linked to a personal relationship. The victim was allegedly involved with a woman known as alias Alice, a resident of Barangay Busay. Police identified Alice’s partner as the possible suspect in the shooting.

Family members told police that Dan had received multiple death threats from unknown numbers prior to the incident.

Authorities are conducting follow-up operations to locate and apprehend the suspect.

Police have yet to determine the exact number of shots fired or recover the weapon used in the attack. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.

The killing adds to a series of shooting incidents in Cebu City in recent months, prompting renewed calls for tighter community security and faster resolution of gun-related crimes.
