The Association of Negros Producers (ANP) recognized 99.7 Brigada News FM-Kabankalan for its active role in promoting peace and sustainable livelihoods during the 32nd Bulawan, 3rd Pilak, and 2nd Balik-Salig Competition and Awards, held Friday, May 30, at SM City Bacolod.
The recognition speaks for the station’s active partnership with ANP. Both Brigada News FM-Kabankalan and ANP are deeply committed to supporting communities that have faced conflict.
As a member of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) of Negros Occidental, ANP focuses on long-term peace-building by addressing the root causes of conflict rather than offering temporary solutions.
Brigada News FM, guided by its tagline #InTheHeartOfChangingLives, goes beyond reporting the news. The station plays a key role in supporting communities in the province affected by conflict, advocating for sustainable development to help lift people out of poverty.
Brigada’s vision aligns with ANP’s – both organizations believe that peace should be a lasting priority for every local government unit (LGU), not just a quick fix.
Founded in the 1980s amidst a crisis, ANP has worked tirelessly to help communities diversify their livelihoods, build resilience, and restore trust. Brigada News FM shares that mission, striving to uplift and empower communities to build a better future.
In a statement, the station expressed its gratitude to the provincial government and ANP for allowing them to be part of this important work.
“Peace can’t be just a short-term solution. It needs to be a central focus for every LGU. Together, we’re not just offering hope; we’re creating real, lasting change,” the station said.*
