Bonoan still not back in the Philippines

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed that former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel “Manny” Bonoan has not yet returned to the Philippines.

According to BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval, records show that Bonoan left the country on November 11 after accompanying his wife to the United States for medical treatment. He had earlier said that he would be back in the country on December 17.

Sandoval said that as of Thursday, December 18, Bonoan has not passed through any immigration counters at the country’s airports or seaports.

Although Bonoan is included in an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order, he was still allowed to leave the country since there was no hold departure order or arrest warrant issued against him at the time.
