Army recovers firearm equipment, war materials in Lanao del Sur operation

Troops of the 101st Infantry (Three Red Arrows) Brigade recovered various war materials and firearm fabrication equipment during a combat clearing and intelligence operation in Barangay Pabrica, Marogong, Lanao del Sur on April 11, 2026.

The operation was conducted by troops of the 101st Infantry Brigade, led by the 64th Infantry Battalion, with support from intelligence operatives.

Military authorities said the target area had previously been occupied by members of the Daulah Islamiya–Maute Group (DI-MG).

During the clearing operation, troops discovered equipment believed to be used in the fabrication of firearms. Among the unserviceable equipment recovered were one milling machine, two lathe machines, one drill press, one welding machine, one power hacksaw, one anvil, and one jack stand.

Troops also recovered several war materials, including 50 pieces of tube or barrel for caliber .50 firearms, one propellant cartridge for caliber .50, five Barrett suppressors, three magazines for Barrett, 20 wooden frames of Barrett, four burners for caliber .50, two scopes for Barrett, one 60mm tube, and one grenade.

Authorities said troops continue to secure the area to ensure safety and allow further recovery of possible hidden items.

The military said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to prevent the reuse of enemy war materials and maintain peace and security in the province.
