Angie Mead King’s $160K Acura NSX engulfed in flames on SLEX

A shocking video of Angie Mead King’s prized Acura NSX supercar engulfed in flames on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) has taken the internet by storm. The luxury car, valued at over $160,000, was reduced to a charred shell, with the blaze destroying its entire rear section, where the rear power unit is located.

Viral Video Captures the Devastation

Footage shared by King on her Instagram account shows the high-performance vehicle ablaze in the middle of the highway, with thick smoke billowing as firefighters attempt to control the fire. According to King, a prominent car enthusiast and businesswoman, the incident was “harrowing” and left her grateful to those who offered assistance. She appreciated “the Good Samaritan, fire and towing services, and SLEX police” for their quick response, adding that “a fire extinguisher wouldn’t have put out the flames.”

The fire’s cause remains unknown, but the damage is evident in images circulating online, where the vehicle’s rear is completely incinerated. King, who came out as transgender in 2016, has long been an icon in the automotive community, known for her collection of high-end vehicles and passion for customization. However, she did not provide further details about what sparked the blaze in the NSX’s rear.

Public Fascination and King’s Harrowing Experience

The video has rapidly gained attention, as many followers shared concerns and shock at seeing the rare vehicle destroyed. Despite the traumatic experience, King remains resilient, describing the NSX as “a pure driver’s car” in her social media posts.

This isn’t King’s first brush with an automotive accident. In 2018, she was involved in a crash during a racing event in Italy, where her spouse, model Joey Mead, expressed her support on social media.

The Acura NSX, a high-performance car made primarily of carbon fiber, likely contributed to the fire’s intensity, leading to significant destruction. While King has not confirmed the vehicle’s repair plans, the incident has sparked discussions about fire safety for supercar owners.
