Filipina tennis star Alex Eala admitted feeling “super nervous” when she first met fashion icon Anna Wintour.
Speaking on the Pretty Tough podcast hosted by former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova, Eala recalled spending a month thinking about what to wear for the meeting because she was unsure what outfit would be appropriate.
When they met at Wintour’s office, Eala wore embellished purple trousers with a simple white top and tie, which earned her several compliments.
Eala said meeting people she looks up to feels different, especially those who have made a significant impact in their respective fields and on women.
Eala is next set to compete in the Wuhan and Ningbo Opens in China before heading to the Tokyo Open in Japan.
