Comedian and showbiz personality Ogie Diaz gifted his daughter Erin P1 million as a birthday present after she turned 25 without getting married or having a child.
In Erin’s birthday vlog, Diaz handed her a ceremonial check and reminded her of a promise he made to his children—to give them P1 million if they reached the age of 25 while still single and without children.
“What was my promise to you? When you turn 25, if you still don’t have a spouse or a child, then… there you go,” Diaz said.
“Erin, my gift to you,” he added as he presented the ceremonial check, leaving Erin and those around her stunned.
Diaz explained that the promise was his way of encouraging his children to enjoy their youth before settling down and starting their own families.
“I want them to enjoy their youth,” Diaz said, clarifying that the gift was not meant to show off.
Diaz also revealed that his other children will receive the same P1 million gift if they reach 25 while remaining single and without children.
For her part, Erin plans to use the money as capital for her dream of putting up a coffee shop.
