The Department of the Interior and Local Government reminded outgoing barangay officials to remain committed despite approaching term completion this year.
DILG Naga City urged officials whose terms are ending or who will not seek reelection to continue serving their communities diligently.
Local Government Operations Officer Elmer Villanueva emphasized that public service must continue regardless of whether officials decide to run in November’s elections.
He reminded incumbent officials to perform their duties responsibly instead of becoming complacent during the remaining months of their respective terms.
Liga President Ason Peñaflor also encouraged barangay leaders to continue implementing meaningful projects, stressing that even simple initiatives can benefit residents significantly.
He emphasized that consistent public service and community-focused programs remain essential responsibilities until the officials officially complete their respective terms.
Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections reported that Naga City now has more than 119,000 registered regular voters and over 38,000 registered Sangguniang Kabataan voters.
Election Officer Attorney Maico Julia Jr. announced that orientation sessions for aspiring candidates filing Certificates of Candidacy will begin this month.
Villanueva also reminded incumbent candidates not to use government resources during campaign activities, emphasizing that their accomplishments should remain their strongest platform.
