According to surveillance data released by the City Health Office, individuals aged 15 to 24 recorded the highest number of reported cases.
Health authorities associated many of these infections with high-risk sexual behaviors, highlighting the importance of education and early intervention among adolescents.
City Health Office officials continue expanding HIV testing services to identify infections earlier and connect affected individuals with appropriate medical care immediately.
Earlier, City Health Office head Dr. Lalaine Calonzo confirmed that the expanded HIV testing program identified several positive cases within schools.
Officials emphasized that confirmed individuals receive confidential medical assistance while authorities strictly protect their identities and personal information under existing health policies.
DepEd officials also encouraged schools to strengthen guidance services and promote age-appropriate reproductive health education without creating fear or discrimination among students.
