DOH reminds public to practice safe sex ahead of Valentine’s Day

The Department of Health (DOH) has urged the public to practice safe sex and use protection to prevent various infections that may be acquired through sexual activity.

This reminder comes as the celebration of Valentine’s Day approaches.

In a Facebook post, the DOH emphasized the importance of protection, particularly for those who are dating and not yet married.

According to the agency, trust alone is not enough when it comes to sexual health.

There should be proper assurance through protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as HIV.

The DOH also noted that combination prevention methods, including condoms and lubricants, are available for free to help ensure protection during sexual activity.
