Number of new voter registrants at Comelec surpasses 800,000

The number of applicants who have registered with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) has reached more than 800,000.

This comes two months after the commission reopened voter registration nationwide on October 20.

According to data released by Comelec, a total of 877,422 individuals have registered so far.

Of this number, nearly 200,000 are for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)—youth voters aged 15 to 17—while 678,985 are regular voters.
