Angara Affirms Integrity of Agency After Official Takes Leave Over Flood Control Anomaly

Education Secretary Sonny Angara assured the public that the Department of Education (DepEd) remains committed to integrity and quality service.

This came after Undersecretary Trygve Olaivar filed a voluntary leave of absence following his alleged involvement in flood control projects.

In a statement, Angara said the controversy will not derail the department’s work.

As head of the agency, he stressed that DepEd continues to uphold the highest standards of integrity in its operations.

According to Angara, Olaivar’s decision to take a leave was to allow due process to proceed without causing any disruption to the agency.
