The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) describes President Bongbong Marcos’ directive for his cabinet secretaries to submit courtesy resignations as a diversionary tactic.
According to ACT’s statement, this move is a shallow and desperate attempt to shift public attention away from worsening political problems, massive electoral fraud during the midterm elections, and the economic and social crisis under his administration.
ACT Chairperson Vladimer Quetua says the so-called ‘bold reset’ is an attempt to ignore real issues.
Quetua emphasizes that President Marcos failed to deliver on his promise of a “New Philippines.
” Instead of transformation, the country faced democratic decline, a stagnant economy, and intense political repression, Quetua said.
Quetua concludes that the “reset” the Philippines needs requires a bold shift towards a humane, nationalist, and democratic government that truly responds to the people’s needs. #
