Two supporters of local politicians were killed and five others were injured when armed suspects opened fire at them in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Monday morning.
Silay City Police Chief Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca identified the victims who died as Albert Salimbot and Ronnie Piedad.
The incident happened at a private individual’s house affiliated with a political group.
Lt. Col. Darroca confirmed that there are three suspects, but they have not been identified yet.
The injured victims were immediately brought to the hospital for treatment.
Silay City Mayor Joedith Gallego condemned the incident and urged residents to remain calm and respect each other’s decision.
