A drug den was dismantled, and 10 individuals, including its alleged maintainer and a government employee, were arrested during a coordinated buy-bust operation on February 12, 2025, in Purok Suaybaguio B, Barangay Magugpo North.
The operation, led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI, Tagum City Police Station, and the Philippine Coast Guard, resulted in the arrest of alias “Hanz,” 31, the suspected drug den maintainer. Hanz was caught selling suspected shabu worth Php 8,000 to an undercover agent.
Also apprehended were two employees of the drug den and seven visitors caught in a shabu session. Authorities seized seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 14 grams, valued at Php 126,000, along with assorted drug paraphernalia and marked money.
The suspects will face charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The operation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illegal drug activities in the region.
