A deadly shooting occurred in the early hours of November 7, 2024, in Purok Malok, Barangay Labangal, General Santos City. At approximately 1:30 AM, residents reported hearing a series of gunshots. Upon investigation, authorities discovered the body of 33-year-old Gerald Gilbero, also known as “Musang,” lying lifeless on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
Gilbero, a single man and a jobless resident of Purok Malok A, was reportedly asleep on a swing at the time of the incident. Investigators suggest that an unidentified assailant approached him while he was resting and fired several shots at close range with a pistol.
Residents in the area immediately alerted local authorities, who arrived at the scene and secured the area for further investigation. Despite efforts to gather information, the identity of the suspect remains unknown, and the motive for the killing has yet to be determined.
