8 Marcos bets for 2025 senatorial elections lead SWS survey

Eight of the 12 Marcos administration’s backed senatorial aspirants lead the latest Social Weather Station (SWS) survey results.

The survey commissioned by the Stratbase Group from January 17 to January 20, 2025 shows Congressman Erwin Tulfo leading with 45 percent of the vote followed by former Senate President Tito Sotto with 38% and re-electionists senators Lito Lapid and Bong Go both with 37%.

Following them are Former Senator Ping Lacson with 35%, TV host Ben Tulfo with 34%, Re-electionist Senator Pia Cayetano and Former Senator Manny Pacquaio both with 33%, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay with 31%, Re-electionist Senator Ronald Bato dela Rosa with 30%, and re-electionist Senator Bong Revilla, TV Host Willie Revillame and Former Senator Kiko Pangilinan all with 29%.

Senator Imee Marcos is in the 13th spot while Las Pinas Representative Camille Villar in the 14th slot with 28% and 26% respectively.

The survey has 1,800 respondents who are all registered voters and the results have 2.31% plus and minus margin of error.

Last November 24, 2024 President Ferdinand Marcos Jr announced the 12 senatorial candidates he is supporting in the 2025 elections.

These include Former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Pia Cayetano, Former Senator Ping Lacson, Senators Lito Lapid, Imee Marcos and Bong Revilla.

The list also included Former Senate President Tito Sotto, Senate Majority Leader Francisco Tolentino, Representative Erwin Tulfo and Las Pinas Rep. Camille Villar.
