8 Gates of Ambuklao Dam opened amid heavy rainfall

All eight gates of the Ambuklao Dam in Bokod, Benguet have been opened to release water as rains continued to pour over Luzon.

As of the latest update, the dam’s gates have been opened to a total of 14 meters.

According to the Ambuklao Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), the dam gates were opened on Saturday evening, August 8, after the water level continued to rise.

Meanwhile, six gates of the Binga Dam have also been opened at 15 meters, recorded a water level of 574.34 meters.

Authorities advised downstream communities to remain alert for official advisories.
