A five-vehicle collision along Sayre Highway, Barangay Dicklum, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon at 9:20 a.m. on February 23, 2025, left a truck driver injured after his vehicle lost its brakes and crashed into parked motorcycles. The accident was caught on video by a bus passenger.
According to a report from the Manolo Fortich Municipal Police Station, the crash began when a private car, driven by Emmalyn, 36, from Cagayan de Oro City, accidentally collided with a bus driven by Jeffrey, 32, from Makati City.
Two traffic enforcers, Jayson, 35, and Christopher, 35, both from Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, responded to the incident and parked their motorcycles at the scene. However, a 10-wheeler cargo truck loaded with molasses, driven by Armand, 27, from Maramag, Bukidnon, reportedly lost its brakes, plowing into one of the parked motorcycles before tipping over and spilling its cargo onto the highway.
The terrifying moment was captured on video by Lovely Edpalina, a bus passenger, showing how the tanker lost control, crashed into the motorcycle, and spilled molasses.
The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was immediately brought to the hospital. Authorities are investigating the incident.
