20-year-old caretaker killed in Cebu robbery case

A 20-year-old warehouse caretaker was found dead in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City on May 13, 2026, authorities said.

The victim was identified only as Boy, a native of Negros Island.

According to police, the victim was discovered lying on a wooden bed outside the warehouse at around 5 p.m.

Investigators found multiple injuries on the victim’s body, including bruises, wounds, swelling on the right eye, and blood on the face, hands and ears.

In an interview with Brigada News FM Cebu, the former caretaker of the warehouse said the victim allegedly had no known enemies.

Authorities later determined through further investigation that the incident was a case of robbery with homicide.

Police immediately conducted follow-up operations that resulted in the arrest of two suspects on the afternoon of May 14.

The suspects are currently under the custody of Police Station 9 for proper disposition and further investigation.

Authorities did not immediately disclose the identities of the suspects or the items allegedly taken during the incident.

Police have yet to release additional details regarding the possible motive behind the attack.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue gathering evidence related to the killing.

The incident raised concerns among residents in the area following the violent death of the young caretaker.

Authorities urged the public to immediately report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies to help prevent similar incidents.

Police also assured the public that they will continue pursuing all angles of the investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
