Earthquake Felt in Legazpi City
Residents in Legazpi City experienced Intensity II shaking, characterized by weak tremors. People indoors may have felt light vibrations, particularly on upper floors of buildings. While the tremor was minor, such occurrences underscore the region’s susceptibility to seismic activity due to its location within the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Preparedness Amid Minor Quakes
Local officials have urged communities to prioritize earthquake preparedness despite the relatively low magnitude of the recent quake. “This is a reminder that even small tremors can cause alarm. Residents should always be prepared,” an official said.
PHIVOLCS continues to monitor the situation and assures the public of timely updates should aftershocks occur.
