The 10 had spent the night at a police station after they were arrested Aug. 7, 2026, following their initial failure to post ₱72,000 in bail for their cases.
On Aug. 8, 2026, lawyer Levito Baligod went to Las Piñas to facilitate the payment of the bail and secure the release order from the Las Piñas Regional Trial Court Branch 200.
Baligod said the total amount of bail reached approximately ₱1 million.
He did not directly disclose the source of the bail money, saying it would be difficult to explain.
In a Facebook post, however, Baligod thanked supporters who, he said, contributed to raise the amount needed for the bail.
Before the release, Baligod showed members of the media what he described as evidence of an alleged bribery attempt involving some of the former bodyguards who later recanted their earlier statements.
According to Baligod, the individuals were allegedly offered ₱8 million in exchange for withdrawing their statements.
The so-called “Maleta Boys” had previously made statements that became part of a controversy involving their alleged links to Co.
Baligod said the group is also expected to disclose the identities of those allegedly behind the reported bribery attempt.
The allegations regarding the ₱8 million offer remain claims presented by Baligod, and the individuals allegedly involved have not been identified in the information provided.
The release of the 10 individuals follows the posting of bail in their perjury cases, while the reported bribery allegations remain part of the ongoing controversy surrounding their recanted statements.
