Two high-value drug suspects were arrested and about three kilograms of suspected shabu worth ₱20.4 million were seized in a buy-bust operation in Cagayan de Oro City before dawn on March 19, 2026.
The operation was conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other support units. It took place at around 12:56 a.m. along Coastal Road in Barangay Calaanan.
Authorities identified the suspects as alias “Bossing,” 23, and a 25-year-old male, both residents of the area.
Seized during the operation were multiple sachets and plastic packs containing suspected illegal drugs, including the buy-bust item. Police also recovered marked money and other non-drug evidence.
Inventory and marking of the seized items were carried out on-site in the presence of a barangay official and a media representative.
The suspects are now under police custody. Charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared.
The confiscated substances have been turned over for laboratory examination.
The operation is part of the PNP’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs under its Focused Agenda within Enhanced Managing Police Operations. It also supports the national government’s efforts to maintain safer communities under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units and said the campaign against illegal drugs will continue through aggressive but lawful operations.
