A 56-year-old woman was robbed and killed while sleeping in her home early on January 29, 2025, in Ragay, Camarines Sur.
According to PMAJ Ryan Bagasala, officer in charge of Ragay Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in Zone 5. The suspect, identified as Jansy, allegedly broke into the victim’s house to steal valuables.
The victim, Marilyn Relano, woke up to the noise. In response, the suspect used a pillow to suffocate her, leading to her death. Jansy then stole a mobile phone worth ₱3,000 and ₱100,000 in cash before fleeing.
Authorities revealed that the suspect had a previous record with the barangay and had previously surrendered for illegal drug involvement. He was later arrested and admitted to the crime.
Jansy is now in police custody and will face charges of robbery with homicide.
