Winner in Antipolo special elections may be proclaimed tomorrow

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia confirmed that the winner of the House seat for the 2nd district of Antipolo may be proclaimed as early as tomorrow.

In a statement, Garcia said the board of canvassers will continue the canvassing of votes until early morning or until tomorrow.

Because of this, the proclamation of the winning congressman could take place before 11 a.m.

He added that the proclamation will not happen tonight since teachers are conducting the manual counting of votes.

Meanwhile, Garcia also said that no untoward incidents or major issues were recorded during the special elections in Antipolo.
