At a time when the Philippines feels increasingly divided, politically, socially, and regionally, Brigada’s Delightful Philippines initiative offers a unifying vision.
It’s a movement that brings Filipinos together around something everyone can believe in: the beauty of our country and the power of tourism to heal lives and uplift communities.
In this season of political turmoil and public frustration, when many Filipinos feel disillusioned by the corruption they see and hear in the news, it’s no wonder we often say, “Ang hirap mong mahalin, Pilipinas.”
We’ve grown tired. Discouraged. Even angry.

But Delightful Philippines, Brigada’s nation-building initiative, seeks to rekindle our hope and collective spirit.
It reminds us that if we act together, even in small ways, by celebrating our destinations, promoting peace, and making our communities traveler-friendly, we can create jobs, spark opportunity, and send a powerful message to every leader in this nation:
Filipinos are hungry for a better tomorrow. And we’re ready to help build it.

Elmer Catulpos, Founder and CEO of Brigada, believes tourism in the Philippines should be more than beaches, itineraries, and souvenirs. Through the Delightful Philippines campaign, a bold nation-building effort, he shares a message that speaks to both the soul of the traveler and the heart of every Filipino.
“Our first message is for travelers. When you visit the Philippines, you’re not just going on a trip,” Catulpos shared. “You’re finding peace, healing, joy, and the magic of life, all while being embraced by the warm smiles and happy vibes of the Filipino people.”
It’s an invitation to rediscover life, whether you’re a solo traveler searching for meaning, a couple rekindling love, or a family making memories. It’s about sunsets that heal, laughter shared over street food, and the quiet peace of islands untouched by time.
Catulpos believes that the best storytellers of our country’s beauty are the international travelers who’ve experienced it themselves.

“If we want to capture the attention of international tourists, let them tell the world what we sometimes forget to say, that the Philippines is not just beautiful, it’s delightful.”
This vision inspired Brigada to partner with twin international artists Bob and Clint Moffatt of Music Travel Love, who turned their real travel experiences into the original song “Delightful Philippines.” The song captures the spirit of discovery and warmth that defines our people. But the story doesn’t end there. Catulpos says the second message belongs to us, the Filipino people.
“To inspire Filipinos to explore their own country, maybe we can tap celebrities to promote our destinations,” Catulpos said. “But the real power lies in our local storytellers, vloggers, artists, media personalities, and community leaders, who can shape the minds and inspire people to proudly showcase their hometowns and make them safer, cleaner, and more delightful places to live and visit.”
At the heart of this vision is the PIE formula, Peace and Order, Infrastructure, and Ease of Doing Business, a simple yet powerful framework that empowers local leaders, entrepreneurs, and citizens to transform their communities through tourism.
Because when tourists come, jobs follow.
And when communities rise, the nation heals.

“This isn’t just about tourism,” Catulpos emphasized. “It’s about uniting our country through shared purpose, to see the Philippines not just as a destination, but as a story worth telling, a community worth building, and a nation worth loving.”
In a time when the world, and our own people, are searching for meaning, hope, and connection, Delightful Philippines offers something rare:
a promise for travelers, and a mission for communities.
