A warehouse fire in Purok 2B, Mudiang Road, Barangay Ilang, Davao City, claimed the lives of two workers and caused an estimated ₱8.4 million in damages on January 14, 2025.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Davao identified the victims as Gian Subla, 19, of Loreto, Agusan del Sur, and Reyeel Dion Mansing, 20, of Barangay Miranda, Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).
Both victims were trapped inside the warehouse when the fire broke out, unable to escape in time.
The fire, which reached the second alarm, engulfed the storage facility that housed playmats. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours, but the flames consumed the warehouse and its contents before being extinguished.
The victims’ remains are set to be transported back to their respective families in their provinces.
