A third impeachment complaint is being filed against Vice President Sara Duterte in the House of Representatives.
There are 12 complainants composed of lawyers, priests, non-government organization (NGO) workers from Mindanao and other parts of the country who cited graft and corruption and betrayal of public trust as grounds for filing the third impeachment complaint against Vice President Duterte.
Among the notable groups who filed the complaint is the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyer (NUPL-Mindanao)
The complaint is still related to the alleged misuse of Duterte’s confidential funds in the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd)
Camarines Representative Gabriel Bordado Jr and AAMBIS-OWA Representative Lex Colada endorsed the complaint to the House of Representatives Secretary General.
The complainants and endorsers promised to issue additional statements once the filing procedures are completed.
Prior to this, two separate impeachment complaints were filed against Duterte but are still pending in the House of Representatives.
Civil society and militant organizations filed the two impeachment complaints against the vice president.
