The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced the suspension of all voter registration activities starting 12 noon on October 30 until November 2 in observance of Undas.
In its statement, the poll body said it joins the nation in honoring departed loved ones, adding, “Bilang paggunita sa Undas (All Saints’ Day at All Souls’ Day), suspendido ang voter registration mula tanghali ng Oktubre 30, 2025 hanggang Nobyembre 2, 2025. Kasama ng buong bansa, iginagalang natin ang alaala ng mga yumao. Sa pamamagitan ng panalangin, pag-aalay, at pagninilay-nilay, pinapanatili nating buhay ang kanilang espiritu sa ating mga puso. Nawa’y makatagpo ng kapayapaan at liwanag ang kanilang mga kaluluwa.”
Comelec translated the sentiment as honoring the memory of those who have passed on: through prayer, offering, and reflection, the spirits of loved ones are kept alive in the hearts of the living, and they prayed that the departed find peace and light.
Voter registration for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections resumed last October 20 and will run until May 18, 2026.
The poll body earlier announced it aims to register 1.4 million new voters nationwide for the 2026 BSKE.
