The United States military has relocated its Typhon missile launcher in the Philippines, moving it from Laoag airfield to another undisclosed location within Luzon, officials confirmed.
United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) Commander Matthew Comer clarified that the missile launcher’s relocation does not signify a permanent military presence in the Philippines.
The Typhon launcher is equipped with advanced multipurpose missiles capable of striking targets thousands of kilometers away.
Its deployment in the region underscores heightened strategic cooperation between the US and the Philippines amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Indo-Pacific.
Both INDOPACOM and the Philippine government have refused to disclose the new location of the missile launcher, citing security reasons.
