Police are investigating the discovery of an unidentified woman found dead inside a refrigerator at an apartment in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal, on Sept. 16, 2026.
The Rodriguez Municipal Police Station said the victim is estimated to be 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 3 inches tall, with a fair complexion and medium build. Her identity has not yet been established.
Initial information showed that the apartment owner went to the property after being unable to contact the occupant, whose rental contract had already expired. The owner returned the following day and became concerned after a witness reportedly noticed a foul and unusual odor coming from the apartment.
Responding police officers entered the premises through lawful means and discovered the deceased woman inside the refrigerator.
Authorities immediately secured and documented the area. The Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit was requested to conduct crime scene examination and forensic processing.
PLTCOL Arwyn D. Gaffud, chief of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station, directed a comprehensive follow-up investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident, verify initial information, identify the deceased and locate individuals who may have relevant information.
Police said they are not making any definitive conclusion regarding the cause, manner or motive of death pending forensic and medico-legal examinations and the completion of the investigation.
The Rodriguez police appealed to anyone with information that could help identify the woman or clarify the circumstances to coordinate with investigators or the nearest police station.
