Two security guards were shot dead by a fellow guard inside a car dealership in Barangay North Fairview, Quezon City, on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, police said.
Based on the initial investigation, the victims were sleeping inside the service lounge area of the dealership when the suspect allegedly entered the room and shot them. Both guards died at the scene.
A witness told investigators that moments before the shooting, the suspect approached him and asked for help, saying he intended to kill someone and claimed he had been holding back for a long time. The witness quoted the suspect as saying he should have done it earlier.
Police said the suspect fled the scene after the shooting.
The following day, December 25, the suspect was arrested during a pursuit operation in Tondo, Manila, according to the National Capital Region Police Office.
Preliminary findings indicate that the possible motive for the crime was alleged workplace bullying. Police also cited reports that the suspect was frequently not relieved on time, was assigned straight duty, and was made to work without sufficient rest. Authorities said these factors are still being validated as part of the ongoing investigation.
Recovered from the suspect were the mobile phones belonging to the victims, a backpack, and several pieces of clothing. Police did not immediately disclose details about the firearm allegedly used in the shooting.
The Quezon City Police District said it is coordinating with prosecutors for the filing of appropriate criminal charges against the suspect.
The incident, which occurred on the eve of Christmas, has drawn attention to working conditions faced by security personnel. Police said further investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and to determine accountability based strictly on the evidence gathered.
