Tricycle driver caught with shabu in Abra buy-bust

Authorities arrested a 52-year-old tricycle driver during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Rumingbao, Barangay Lubong, Bangued, Abra, on February 10, 2025.

The suspect, identified as Gilbert Llaneza Virgo, was classified as a high-value target (HVI) due to his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities. He resides in Sitio Baddec, Barangay Palao, Bangued.

The joint operation was led by the Bangued Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) with coordination from various law enforcement agencies, including the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Authorities confiscated five sachets of suspected shabu with a total weight of 2.4 grams and a street value of approximately ₱16,320. They also seized buy-bust money, a blue keypad cellphone, a black coin purse, a remote key, and a black-and-white motorcycle without a plate number.

The on-site inventory of the seized items was conducted in the presence of the suspect and witnesses, using two alternative recording devices.
