The Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) has raised alarm over revelations in the Senate that infrastructure projects under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Engineering Office in Bulacan since 2019 were allegedly substandard.
These include classrooms and hospitals, which the group stressed are vital facilities used daily by students and the public.
The TDC called the alleged wrongdoing an “unforgivable betrayal,” saying the lives, health, and education of children are being placed at risk because of the greed of public officials.
The group also condemned the misuse of public funds, which they said should have been allocated to social services.
Instead of building safe schools, hospitals, and flood control projects, TDC lamented that resources are being funneled into what they described as syndicates within the DPWH and corrupt lawmakers.
