Rep. Marcy Teodoro Faces Sexual Assault Complaints

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has confirmed that two complaint-affidavits have been filed before the National Prosecution Service against Marikina 1st District Representative Marcy Teodoro.

The complainants, both female police officers assigned as the lawmaker’s close-in security detail, accused Teodoro of violating provisions of the Revised Penal Code.

One of them alleged acts constituting a violation of Article 336, or Acts of Lasciviousness. The other complainant claimed that the congressman committed offenses under Article 266-A(2), or Rape by Sexual Assault, as well as Article 336.

The DOJ said the complaints will undergo case build-up and legal evaluation to determine the strength of the evidence before a preliminary investigation.

Authorities also assured that due process will be afforded to Congressman Teodoro.
