Teacher killed in stabbing by live-in partner in Cebu

A 43-year-old teacher was stabbed to death by a live-in partner who is a member of the LGBTQ community late Monday night in Minglanilla, Cebu.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. on October 6, 2025, in Sitio Sambag, Barangay Tubod.

Police identified the victim by the alias Anie, while the suspect was named Kath, 42.

Initial investigation revealed the couple often argued. On the night of the incident, Kath was reportedly drunk when a fight broke out after their dog got out of the gate.

Kath allegedly became violent and threatened to kill the victim. Out of fear, Anie locked the door, but Kath pretended to have been bitten by a snake while chasing the dog to convince Anie to open it.

When the victim opened the door, another heated argument followed, leading to the stabbing.

Police recovered two kitchen knives from the scene. The suspect has since apologized to the victim’s family.

Authorities continue their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the crime.
