The family and friends of a 43-year-old teacher are calling for justice after they were found dead inside their room in Barangay Tamao, Tayasan, Negros Oriental on Sunday, February 9.
Authorities identified the victim as Raynaizan “Bata” Fausto, a teacher and member of the LGBTQIA+ community. According to police reports, Fausto was discovered lifeless by their own sibling around 2 p.m.
The victim was found half-naked with visible scratches on their body. Their personal belongings were also missing, leading authorities to suspect that the crime may have involved a robbery.
The Tayasan Municipal Police Station is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death and identify possible suspects.
The case has sparked concern among residents, with loved ones demanding swift justice for the slain teacher.
