Stronger legal defense assured for 3 detained Filipino seafarers in Algeria

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) assured its full support for three Filipino seafarers currently detained in Algeria.

This comes as the agency coordinates with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to strengthen the legal defense of the affected Filipinos.

The individuals are among eight crew members arrested on July 28, 2023, after Algerian authorities discovered around 35.8 kilograms of suspected cocaine aboard the commercial vessel CV Harris while docked at a port in Algiers.
